Garden Fresh Foods is recalling nearly 10 tons of ready-to-eat chicken and ham products over possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Several brands fall under the umbrella of Garden Fresh Foods including, Market Pantry, Archer Farms, D’Amico and Sons, Finest Traditions, Garden Fresh and Weis.

Listeria monocytogenes is the most virulent food-borne pathogen and is responsible for more than 250 deaths in the U.S. annually. Symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions.

Omg!! I haven't had any of these brands that I know of. Super awesome of you to post this info though!!! So scary.

I dont recognize these brands, but I know alot of our food comes across the border, so its good to have the FDA page for reference. Thanks for posting!

I know the market pantry is a line for target stores... Right? I've never heard of the other brands. What stores are they sold in, anyone know?

Thanks for the heads up! I shop at Target a lot and I know they sell some of those.

This is why I don't get the anti-deli meats. Also, a lot of produce has been more common for listeria issues lately than meat products.

@HatchetFace Good call. Target is great for most things but perishables are not their strong suit. I just bought two bags of shredded cheese and when I opened them I found mold in both. Yum.

I agree. I've had similar experiences with Target.
