Is this evil of me?

I normally work 7-4 and DH works later.  So I am always the one who has to run out of work to go home to DS, and I am on my own with DS usually until he is close to being ready for bed.  I never know when DH is coming home, and he has the flexibility of stopping on his way home to run errands, etc.

This week, he is off and I am working.  First thing this morning, he asked me what time I would be home and I said I didn't know.  I will probably leave here shortly, because I do want to get home to see them, but I'm taking advantage of the fact that he's at home with DS.  It is nice to not have that pressure of having to drop everything at 4 to get home on time.  I might even stop on my way home to return a Christmas gift.

DH never really understands why by the time he gets home I am wiped out and just want to veg a little after DS goes to bed.  I am hoping this week he will get it.  So is it evil that I am enjoying this and not rushing out the door at 4:00?

Re: Is this evil of me?

  • Nope, not evil at all!! It's great! I just started "MAKING" DH do more with Jake so I can relax a bit. It's good for them!

    Take your time!

  • Not at all!  DH is off this week as well so I don't have to make sure I'm out of here by 4:15 to pick DS up so I have a decent amount of time to spend with him before bedtime.  I'm stopping at the bank and returning something at Children's Place before I head home today!

  • absolutely not evil.  before i started working from home, dropping everything to make sure that i picked up M on time was a HUGE pressure.  aside from beinF apart from her, I think that was a close 2nd in what sucks about being a wohm.

sorry i went on a tangent - ENJOY IT!

  • Ooh that is wonderful! A little taste for him.  I hate always asking "what time" and hearing "I don't know".

  • Not evil at all.

I had a similar experience last Monday. When I called DH to tell him I was leaving work (not really hurrying to get out either) he was like "Are you coming home now?"--all bothered. I asked him "yeah, why?" He said "Well, Natalie has been crying for an hour now and I dont know what to do with her?!?!".  . Made me chuckle that he was at his wits end and "didnt know what to do"....he always acts like working part time and being home with her all day is a breeze. He cant understand why on earth I am tired and want a break when HE gets home from work...DH got a taste of it last week and was beside himself!  He HEee....time for your husband to also!!!   :)

  • Not evil- smart!

Take your time, you deserve it.
