Lots of blood/Clotting= trip to ER, babies are ok though

So I spent yesterday afternoon in the ER because I was leaving to have a late lunch with a girlfriend and had to pee. When I sat down to pee and MASSIVe gush of blood came out of me in bright red color. I sat there for a moment in disbielf beccause I had texted my husband about 2 hours earlier that I was having one of my best days in a while. I had no cramps or pain what so ever! Just tons and tons of blood. Then this huge clot the size of a golf ball feel out and I about lost it, I thought for sure I had just lost the babies. I called my husband told him to meet me at ER and had my girlfriend rush me there. I filled an overnight Pad in 5 min flat. The ER rushed me back and I told them I was 8 weeks with triplets and they got me all situated quickly within 20 minutes they had drawn blood and were doing the ultra sound. My husband arrived just as they started the ultra sound. The Tech said she saw 3 strong heart beats and the sacs were fine. 3 babies were still in there, but there was a mass in my vaginal cavitie. Of course I heard mass and started freaking out. She said to calm down and that it was a clot, that would pass shortly.....sure enough I got up about 20 min later to use the restroom and 3 very large clots fell out, when I saw large I mean 2 the size of golf balls and one the size of a baseball. But after that the bleeding slowed and since has stopped. My dr & the ER have no idea why this happened or what caused it, but they all agreed that if babies are ok I'm ok........has anyone out there had this happen? I'm terrified that it will happen again.

dx: Unexplained IF
TTC since May 2011, 1 year trying, and then 3 TI, 2 IUI = BFN
IVF #1 (May 2013): Antagonist Protocol:
24R, 18M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 2 early blasts, no frosties = BFN
IVF #2 (August 2013): Lupron Stop Protocol:
28R, 23M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 1 partially hatched blast, 7 frosties = BFP
EDD 5/23/14, blighted ovum (6w6d), D&C (8w6d)
FET #1 (April 2014): transferred 2 5d blasts = BFP

BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
BFP #2: 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks.
Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies. ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts.
Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy. Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

How absolutely terrifying. I'm so glad you and the babies are ok. I hope the bleeding stops soon so you can relax. Thinking of you...
Edit: I see that the bleeding has stopped. Thank God!
