To make a long story short- We live in a gated community. People can be real catty around here! Anyway we were on vacation in August and got a call that a neighbor complained to the HOA for "noise" such as drilling and banging. Um yeah bitch we had the contractors there working on the nursery. Our nursery room was completely windowless so we made the decision to add 2 internal windows that would overlook our great room. Well as it turns out they went to the town buildig dept too complaining that we have been working on the house for over a year (not true but whatev's). The building inspector came over ad tells us the nursery can NOT be a bed room without a double egress window. Okay fine...we will get approval from the HOA Board of Directors and obtain the proper permits.
Fast forward - the sketches for the room/window have been submitted to the town and it is going to take another 1-2 weeks to get the permit. The window project will take at least another 2 weeks to build....then the painting ect. So yeah no nursery till November for my LO!
I know that it will get done, I just wanted to have a nursery done before LO comes.
Re: Is anyone else not going to have a nursery completed in time for your EDD
I'm sure your baby won't notice that it doesn't have a room yet...

What's up with the new window rule? Is that specific to your community? I've never heard of anything like that. And what shitty neighbors!
LO's nursery may or may not be completed by birth. The main furniture is in and bedding is on the crib, but there are still a few things to check off the list. Curtains need to be hung. FI attempted to hang them, but broke an anchor off in the wall. My dad is going to take care of it when he comes in town. I still need to paint a few frames and hang decor. I also need to fix the mobile my daughter cut and make a new bow holder. Maybe one day I'll feel ambitious and get it taken care of.

I've never been one for some cutesy, lavish nursery so this works for us.
