Cramping: Normal or UTI?

So I keep having cramping. I've never been pregnant bf so I don't know what is 'normal'. Some of it I would say is probably normal, but other times it's pretty severe. Some of the cramps almost feel like bladder spasms I had with my kidney stone. I've never had a UTI, so I don't know what that feels like either. My main question is, anyone had an UTI in early pregnancy , no burning, etc just cramping/spasms? I know no one can say for sure, but didn't know if anyone else experienced this.

I've had cramping too and it's my first pregnancy. I've had a few uti's too but not currently... but anytime I've had a uti, the burning happens before the bladder spams. Of course it never hurts to double check to see if you have uti or not but it sounds pretty normal. Keeping an empty bladder helped me a lot. I'm about 7 weeks along and it seems like the cramps are subsiding FX.
I've seen at home tests for uti's too. Maybe that would help you for now?

I would say if it is a UTI, you would probably have the urge to urinate a lot with it.  That's been my only symptom with UTI's in the past.  I would think it would probably be more than just the cramps.  I will say, I have had some pretty awful gas cramps since I got pregnant. Cramps so bad they feel like contractions.  Any chance it could be that?   I would call your doc in the morning and see what they think.

In early pregnancy it is normal to feel slight cramping, as your body is going through a lot of changes, your uterus is growing, etc. In my past experiences with UTIs I feel more of a constant ache, not really like menstrual cramps.. and an urge to go to the bathroom. If you think you might have a UTI, or just generally feel concerned about your symptoms, you should talk to your doctor.
