I have a friend that had her first may 2012 and her and other may 2012 moms from the forum go together for their babies first birthdays - I thought that was so neat!
Seems like quite a few of us in NC - how fun! I'm a first timer but think its good having others that have gone through it already to answer questions! If you're in Raleigh, where do you plan on delivering? My ob does wakemed raleigh which isn't supposed to be THAT great but I really love my ob and don't want to leave!
I"m in Wake County also, and two of my previous deliveries were at Wake Med.. I disagree with PP... Wake Med ROCKS!
AND, last time I checked it was the ONLY Level 4 NICU in the area (which is why we delivered there, we needed that)... so, if the off chance that anyone needs a level 4 NICU, and you deliver somewhere else in Wake County, your baby will be transferred there, and you will remain in your delivering hospital. I would never want to deal with that, in what is an already stressful time.
Plus one of my dearest friends is a OB Nurse/Lactation Specialist there (for 20+ years), so I may be a little biased!
That's really reassuring!! I hear so many rexers and wm Cary that I was insure of the wm Raleigh - but that's a GREAT point about the nicu!! Makes me feel a lot better about it - thank you!!
