Classmate gifts?

Tay is sick with a party tomorrow she obviously cannot go to.  I'll keep the gift for another party (it's a barbie).  I was thinking, I bought play doh for a party last spring for a classmate of DD1 and she came sick.  I wonder if I still have it shoved somewhere....

ETA:  Yep, playdoh kit with cookies cutters is in the closet with a gift receipt from February!

If we RSVP'd to the party, we give the gift late. We've had this happen a few times.

We send the gift if we said we were coming.

Are they in school together? I'd just send it there. Whenever your DD would see them next, try to send it with her.

They aren't even supposed to hand out invites at school.

If I am friends with the parents, or my kids are good friends with the birthday child, I would drop the gift off to them. if i don't really know them, i don't worry about it.

They aren't even supposed to hand out invites at school. 

I would have DD go early before school and give it to the teacher to put in the girls backpack when school is over. Or you could have your DD point out the child after school and y'all give it then. Or if you Have a school directory, you could drop it by the house, put it in the mailbox or on front steps.

How did you receive the invite for the party, if not at school? Maybe you could drop the gift by the actual party if its today.
