I am lactose intolerant so I need to stay away from dairy. Any other moms to be with the same issue? And do you have any suggestions on what you should eat to make up for it?
I will be asking my doc about this at my first u/s appt. on the 9th, but I thought I'd ask you all in the meantime

Thanks for your help!
Re: Lactose Intolerance - Food Suggestions?
There are tons of other ways to get calcium, dairy isn't really a requirement at all. You will be fine.

I developed an intolerance to milk when I was pregnant with DD. We switched to almond milk for cereal/granola use and I stay away from soft serve for the most part. I'm ok with cheeses and ice cream, just not milk.
I would try almond milk (Silk's Unsweetened Vanilla is my favorite) - it has 50% more calcium than milk, so you'll get plenty of calcium that way. Other foods like dark leafy greens, broccoli, almonds, and sardines are good sources of calcium as well. And for vitamin D - enjoy the sunshine and take a prenatal with D
