I had my 38 week yesterday (38 today actually) I never actually see my real OB except for about 5 minutes at the end of my appointment unless there is any kind of check involved the med. students just deal with it. She tried to tell me I was 37 and 1 and I was like nooo noo noo we're not going backwards i'm 38 tomorrow. We talked about my trip to L&D that I was 4cms dilated and not progressive with the contractions I was having, she said it was weird they didn't just break my water to get things started since she claims 4cms was considered active labour. I don't want my water broken if i'm not progressive any ways because they did that with my last son and it took hours of walking to get contractions even started.

I said it was a little unnerving to be that far dilated because i'm at the very least 2 hours from the hospital and labour very quickly. She said if it was a concern my DR. may talk to me about a 39 week induction. I said there was no need one way or another I would make it there and I went over with both boys and was fine with it. I do kind of wish she'd decide if she's staying in or coming out though because these contractions starting every time I walk for over 10 minutes for the next couple weeks aren't going to be fun.

I went outside to wait for my DH to pick me up and was going to sit on one of these bench swings but noticed an older woman lighting a cigarette and going to sit there, so I sat some where else instead. She apparently notices the "smoke free area" sign on the swing so she comes and sits right beside me and proceeds to bitch about how it's a nice swing but it's apparently a smoke free zone. Completely ignoring the fact that every bench in that area (probably because it's right in front of the hospital entrance) is also a "smoke free zone". I just got up and went to sit on the swing. Some peoples ignorance drives me insane. I'm by no means a smoking snob, both my parents smoke but they don't smoke in their house or around me. This, however irritated me quite a bit it's not like this massive belly is hard to notice.

*They also had an announcement go over the P.A while I was in my appointment saying a baby had been taken in the parking lot and to send security. That's exactly what you want to hear 2 weeks before you're delivering there.
Mommy to 2 handsome boys, expecting a princess!
