Cramping and brown spotting

So I'm 5w6d and last night (Sunday) I started spotting brown. It's only there when I wipe and it's light brown. I went to my doctor and they did an ultrasound. They saw a gestational sac but no yolk sac which she said may be that my dates are wrong. She said the blood was just old blood and not worry. Earlier tonight around 7pm I started having cramping which got stronger as the night when on. It got pretty strong but would come and go so I called my doctor. She said to take to Aleve and of it didn't cease to go to the ER. It did go away but she got worried about a possible miscarriage. Has anyone gone though this?? Anyone have a positive outcome?

I did go through that...around the same time...and unfortunately, it did end in a miscarriage.

Aleve? That doesn't sound right. Aleve is an NSAID which like ibuprofen thins your blood. Which in return can cause more bleeding. It is category C I think I would use Tylenol instead for pain management.
