Eczema everywhere!

Has anyone ever had eczema breakout from pregnancy? I have eczema from time to time but when I found out I was preggo it just started spreading everywhere and it is SO itchy. Is this because of the hormones? Also, does anyone know a cream I can use that's safe. I found out my prescription is not safe.

My son has terrible eczema we use cj's butter on it, its for diaper rash but it works well they have an all natural formula so it should be safe for pregnancy I would still dbl check with you Dr. though

This was mentioned in What to Expect. I also have eczema, and I use Elidel. But it is mostly related to food allergies for me, so I can usually avoid it. The book said that the reason eczema treatments aren't recommended during pregnancy is simply that they haven't been studied in pregnant women. There isn't any specific evidence that it's harmful. So I'll probably ask my doctor about it at my first appointment.

Thanks ladies! I guess I'll just suffer until I go to the doctor. If there is even a 1% chance that it could harm my baby I'm not doing it!

Mine has also gotten horrible! I just keep using aquaphor but it totally sucks!

im right there with you... I have it all the time... & now im flaring up pregnant as well! sucks! im waiting to ask what I can use as well. I went to my first dr's apt but totally forgot to ask as I was too worried about making sure everything was ok in there! hoping for some relief for us!

I go in tomorrow because I got that, a yeast infection, and hemoroids and I don't know what is safe to do for any of that. I will let you all know what I find out!

My daughter has really bad eczema. We use Aquaphor and Vanicream often, only using steroid creams if it gets really bad. Both of those work great though! They sell Vanicream at Target (over the counter), DD's pediatrician recommended it, it's free of all chemicals and additives so it's definitely safe.

Alright ladies went to the doc today and got some advice. He said DO NOT use "natural remedies" because sometimes you don't what herbs or other things are in it and they could be too strong. He said to show him the lotion or cream first before using it. I was surprised about that! He did prescribe me something with a very low dose of steroid in it. He said as long as it's not high those are fine and even then if it's just for a short period of time baby will be fine. He also suggested lotions with Eucerin. Fingers crossed for some relief for us all!
