My puppy can't keep her paws off me!

Before I even POAS our puppy, Coco (6 month old, Cavalier King Charles/Mini Poodle mix) was all up in my business as soon as I'd get up in the morning and as soon as I got home from work, so I had a pretty good idea I was already KU. But the further along I get, I'm noticing Coco won't leave my side! Since we have had her she has always slept snuggled up to DH, now she sleeps touching me. The bonus is she'll come and find me to curl up next to me no matter what I'm doing...be it laying across my feet while I'm trying to cook, or squeezing next to me in a chair while I work. I LOVE the extra snuggle time and LOVE that she can't get enough of her mumma! It's actually funny how it's making DH a little jealous! :)
I was just curious if anyone of you other fur-mommies are experiencing the same thing?

  • Aw how sweet!! My dogs have not paid too much attention to me yet, but with my last pg once the hb started, my boy dog liked to lay his head on my belly.

This happened when I was pregnant with my son. We have two Beagle/Terrier mixes. They were 1 at the time. The girl, Coco, was already attached to me, but after I became pregnant our boy dog, Colt, began sleeping with me and not my husband like he did before. And since then both dogs are attached to me. After our son was born Colt would sleep with his head over the edge of the bed on my side watching our son sleep. Nothing has changed to this point. So I'm curious to see how they act this pregnancy!

  • We have 3 dogs the least anti social of them all is my cocker/beagle mix, for the past week she has been sleeping with me at the foot of the bed. She's 10 years old and has never sleep on the bed. It shocked me at first but I think she knows something up. The other 2 dogs are business as usual.

  • My Maddy girl knows. She is not much of a snuggler, but she sure is now. Gunner and Ruger always follow me around so they are pretty business as usual. 3-70lbs lap labs! At least I won't be cold. :)
  • My neighbor said she thinks her little Yorkie knew before she did that she was pregnant. My dog hasn't seemed to notice anything different. But last week the neighbors had to work late on night, and I brought their dog to our house, and all he wanted to do was snuggle with me on the couch! He was making my dog so jealous and she didn't understand why he didn't want to play with her, but he wouldn't leave me alone! I guess some dogs are just more intuitive than others when it comes to that.

  • My cat is very affectionate and loves cuddling. I'm more of a dog person but this cat is AWESOME! (Lol) anyways he has been sleeping between my legs more and has seemed a little extra cuddly w me. Also when I was pregnant w my daughter (now 4) I was at my aunts and her cat tht never paid attention, can and layed in my pregnant belly!! :) animals know!
  • My pup has been smelling me a lot lately, my neck, arms pits, and hair to be specific. He always snuggles with me and follows me around so I don't see a change there.
  • My miniature schnauzer is so attached follows me everywhere and we visited my dh grandparents yesterday their Weiner dog always growls at me and never wants anything to do with me. Yesterday she came right to me and wanted me to pet her.

  • My favorite spot to nap is on the couch and I am napping much more frequently now:) my border jack ( aka mutt that's border collie and jack Russell) is always trying to nose up as close as possible to me. He licks my face and sets his head on my chest and he knows he can't get on the couch so he gets as close as possible...I suspect he realizes something is up.

  • Our dog and two cats have literally been attached to me since about a week before I tested.

  • My dogs are both puppies (14 months and 5 months) and they are both nut jobs. No increase in snuggling, but since they are so big that might be a good thing... When they play they like to be by me anyway, so if I am sitting on the couch they are constantly running into me, stepping on my feet, or jumping on me. The youngest one has nailed me in the chest a couple of times while she is playing (I guess running to mom is kind of like 'home base' for dogs?), so I guess rather than being intuitive and sweet they are more taking advantage of mom being sick or tired.

  • It's been a few days, but I just had to add this story:
My dog freaked out on me yesterday when we went for a walk, because (heaven forbid) a guy was walking on the sidewalk behind us. She kept looking back at him and growling. And when he caught up to us (because she had to stop to sniff around a tree that always has birds in it) she started barking and growling, kicking her back legs, the whole deal. I've never seen her do that to someone so non-threatening! That's the way she acts when the neighbor's cat comes in our yard, but she normally loves people! She's not even 15 pounds, so it wasn't that scary. The guy just kind of laughed at her, and I picked her up and apologized. I wonder if she's feeling extra protective of me now that I'm pregnant?

  • My dog has a lot of anxiety, but he definitely became extra needy just before I got a BFP. I had a passing thought that his change in attitude was a sign, but I blew it off. Maybe he knew something after all.
