Hey Ladies! We thought it would be fun to make a check in for our LOs big Dr. appointments to see where everyone is at! I will be posing this every Friday so that no one is left out!

* What Vaccinations did they receive ? Any reactions to vaccines? 2 shots in the leg, one oral.. drawing a blank on the actual names, was fussy this time the following day after having shots..very low fever.
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended? Impressed with how strong he is, could start rice cereal and then other solids once he likes that. Everyone loved his curly red tinted hair. hehe
- Due date was May 7th born at 38 weeks 4 days on April 27th. 6lbs 12oz 19 3/4"

-Appointment was on 9/9/13 Due to a mix up with appt. S was 19 weeks.
* Lbs / Length at 4 month appointment?
- 15lbs 1.5 oz / 25.2"
* What Vaccinations did they receive ? Any reactions to vaccines?
- Polio , Pneumococcal, DTP, Rotovirus (oral I believe) , Hib. No reactions but very very fussy and in pain day of vacs. Crying hysterically so I gave pain reliever / fever reducer. As soon as that kicked in she was my happy girl again!
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended?
- Nothing exciting . Did tell me to check all my house for choking hazards now. Anything that can fit through the cardboard part of a toilet paper roll is a hazard ! I went through DD1s toy boxes and found lots of things! And coins !

We're ready for food, flat spot isn't as bad as I thought it was, she has the upper body strength of a gymnast.
I'm not quite sure where the height or upper body strength came from. DH and I are both short and fluffy!

* What vaccinations did they receive ? No vaccines, as LO had just gotten over being really sick, and they were comfortable with us waiting a bit to give him a break. We are taking him in on September 21 for vaccines - we are splitting each vax session into two visits, so we'll get two then (rotovirus and polio, I believe.)
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended? We started on zantac, and if that goes well, the dr. is comfortable with him starting solids soon. He wanted to give the zantac a couple weeks to work / not work first (so far, so good. It seems to be going well and he's spitting up WAY less often)
LO EDD was 4/25/13 and he arrived 11 days late on 5/6/13
Birth weight 6# and 20.75", but dropped to 5# 5oz
He had his appointment last night and weighted 14# and 8oz and is 24.75"
He had the standard vaccinations (3 shots and 1 oral). He did better with the 4 month shots than the 2 month shots. He is with my mom while I'm at work and she emailed me he is a little fussy but no fever.
Pedi said to start cereal this weekend. His formula consumption is up to 36-40oz. She said his flat spot looks so much better and to keep up the repositioning and TT. He was a really colicky baby and the pedi had me switch him to soy formula early on. She said I could try introducing gentle formula. When I mixed his formula this morning I substituted 2 scoops of gentle for 2 scoops of soy.
Has anyone else tried transitioning from soy to gentle or regular formula?
Pedi was impressed that he had one tooth peeking through his gum and two others on the bottom that are visible still in the gums. She also told me to use Aquafor for his drool rash on his chin.
His appt was 2 days before his 4 month bday.
He was 14 lbs 1 oz and 25.5" EBF
Got 3 shots and one combo. Cant remember which ones. He was exact same as 2 months. Fine for 3 hours then screamed until tylenol was given.
Dr. Told us to goto PT for flat spot where they recommended helmet. The spot seems minor to us so we are getting second opinion. DR said to start oatmeal and veggies 2 weeks after he has mastered his oatmeal.
Dr said he has good 'trunk' strength.

Date of Appoinment / How many weeks your LO is at the appointment. This morning! 9/13. She is 18 weeks today (4 months and 3 days)
Lbs / Length at 4 month appointment? She is 12lbs 8oz and 24in.
What Vaccinations did they receive? Rotovirus (oral) and the Pediarix. She will get the other two next month.
Any reactions to vaccines? Not that I know of yet. She did well with this shot at her 2 month appt. so I assume nothing other than tenderness at the injection site.
Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended? I have to try and get an additional nursing session in during the day because she is currently only eating 16oz/day and she is pretty well. She is gaining weight well though so the doctor is overly concerned.
I am going to start solids this weekend. She said to start with oatmeal rather than rice cereal. We talked about the arsenic levels in rice and she said there is no gurantee there is none in baby's rice cereal. After 2 weeks of oatmeal we are going to switch to fruits and veggies. She said to introduce a new taste every two days and that I can alternate fruit and veggies. She also suggested freezing them in cupcake tins rather than ice cube trays because an ice cube size may not be enough if she enjoys the food.
We also talked about teething because L is a drool monster but she said there is nothing happening yet other than her salivary glands being kicked into overdrive to help prepare her gums for the teething process.
Lastly, separation anxiety doesn't usually occur until 9 months but L started early since I went back to work last week. She said I should put a picture of myself on the seat in front of L so she can "see" me since she has been getting upset lately in the car.

It was just a super informative appointment and had so many of my questions answered. Yay for 4 months!

Increase Zantac to 3x/day and can start cereal once she is taking 6-8oz. per feeding, consistently. We can then introduce veggies a few days later if she does well with the cereal. She’s a mover and was scooting her way down the exam table. We were told to start baby-proofing.

Today 9/13. He is 19 weeks

Sadly, 13 lbs 7 oz. I feel like I failed as a mom! At 2 months he weighed 12 lbs 3 oz. He eats 6-7 times a day. During the day he gets 3 4-5 oz bottles and then he nurses when I get home. His length is 25 inches and head circumference is 41 cm.
* What Vaccinations did they receive ? Any reactions to vaccines?
The rotavirus drink and two combo shots. Paper is not with me and I can't remember what they are. They are the same vaccines that he was given at 2 months and he didn't have any reactions then so I suspect none this time.
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended?
Dr said to mix a tbsp of dry cereal with breastmilk twice a day. I wanted to wait until 6 months but I know he needs to beef up. We go back next Friday for a weight check.
We went to Target afterwards and bought cereal, spoons, bowls, 8 oz bottles and a high chair. Good thing today was pay day!

I think so. Dr said at 13 lbs 7 oz for 19 weeks old he is in the 9th percentile! But he doesn't look sickly and DH has him in the jumperoo daily so LO could be gaining slowly due to being so active. Maybe? We bought 8 oz bottles so DH will be putting 6-7 oz in them. We were using 4 oz bottles and filling them a little over 4 oz mark. Dr said that 4-5 oz may be filling up LO just enough to where he is content but where he could drink more if given some.

He said the only health benefit is it is fortified with iron and just helps them practice swallowing. He didn't seem to care one way or the other what we choice to do. He also said that since LO has struggled with STTN that the sleep regression wont affect him. He said that it only really pertains to LO who have STTN from early on that those babies tend to regress. That is a plus for me!!!

Doc said he can STTN now, we just need to train him. Easier said than done.

* What Vaccinations did they receive ? Any reactions to vaccines? he got the same 4 as at his 2 month. He slept pretty good last night.
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended? We are going to start solids at 5 months, so two more weeks.

* Lbs / Length at 4 month appointment? 11lb 0.5oz (0%), 22.75 long (0%), 15.98 inch head circumference (42%) - aka S has a big head.
* What Vaccinations did they receive ? Any reactions to vaccines? not sure which ones, but they were the normal ones. 3 in the leg, one oral. She was pissed and didn't want to sleep that night. Seems back to normal now though.
* Anything special the Dr. Said or recommended? We should consider sleep training because it take at least half an hour everytime S wakes up to eat at night and by now she should be able to sleep through the night. Oh and he's not recommending we start solids until 6 months.
2. Date of Appt: 9/10/13, 4 months 2 days.
3. 4 month appt: 11.3 pounds (5%), 24 inches(25%), head was 15 inches (5%)
4. Vaccinations: Whatever the schedule is. She does really well with vaccinations. Just sleeps more than usual. Even with the shots she cries for less than a minute.
5. Special doctor recommendations: I asked about solids for weight gain and she said I could start cereal. Since I've started solids, A has been drinking more bm! She nurses a lot still but also gets a 7-8 oz pumped bottle before bed. She is tiny but growing right on her curve so the doctor was pleased
2. 9-18. 19.5 weeks old.
3. 19lb3.2oz, 96%, 27.5", 97%
4. Typical vaxes, no reactions so far.
DS has several cafe au lait spots. The doctor said this can be a sign of neurofibromatosis. She doubts that it is, but we'll keep an eye on it. Otherwise, she says he's growing beautifully.
