Infertility

***so1966***

I just read your last post and I totally understand that need to commemorate.  I've been thinking a lot about, after we've done our last cycle, commissioning a piece of jewelry.  I want to work with an artist, but, for now, the idea in my head is kind of like a lavalier with multiple sides, as many sides as IVF's we've actually gone to retrieval and transfer with.  So, each side would commemorate a completed cycle.  And, on each side would be the birthstone of the embryo, either of the month it became and embryo or the month a resulting baby would have been due - I haven't decided yet.  And, for a month we had 2 embryos, I would have two stones, 4 embryos would be 4 stones, etc....

  • your ideas are just beautiful. you have truly been through so much and i often think of you. i'm so sorry for your loss.
After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.

  • Honey, you've been through so much yourself and I think comemmorating it, when we've been through so many failed opportunities, is really important.
