Oh I love my DH

My DH really really wants to be a stay at home dad and work from home.  He currently is gone all the time and travels a lot.  His newest idea is starting a cloth diaper service here in town since there isn't one.  He's going to look into it. Oh, the best part is, our lo isn't here yet so we aren't pro's yet.  I think he is slightly crazy, but the idea is sweet!

It's a pretty good idea and the start up cost would be pretty reasonable, but owning your own business sucks. Plus your DH would have to account for the fact that 'staying at home' with your baby is more than just physically being at home, and a diaper service would consume considerable amounts of travel time on top of the washing.

And did I mention that owning your own business sucks?

Oh I know. My parents owned their own business and I work for a Mom and Pop shop currently. He doesn't do that.  I have a feeling this won't pan out, but in the mean time I'll use this as an excuse to buy a few more diapers, just so we can experiment.

I don't think it's impossible, it's all in how you set it up.

The one CD store where I used to live was run out of the owners' house. It was mostly a web store and the brick-and-mortar part was by appointment only. And I think they would also go out and do demos for groups. Every now and then they had an open house on a weekend. So, they set it up so that they could have flexibility regarding their kids' schedules.

I loved that I could place an order for local pickup. Basically they'd leave my order in a discreet place on their front porch. I think I did this twice and never had a problem.
