Insurance and pumps

My new insurance covers 100% but only if through specific contracted DME providers. I've called literally 15+ places in the state and no one carries pumps! Anyone run into this issue???

Your insurance company didnt provide you with anyone to call?
I have cigna and they had me call care centrix that put me in touch with edge park.
    Id call your ins co!

@carolynl8 I did talk to the insurance and they gave me a list of DME places who they are contracted with and told me to call them to see if they have pumps. My next thought was to ask to speak with a manager because this is ridiculous!

  • Call back and ask them specifically who would carry them. First time I called they just told me to look on the website for in network DME partners and I called a ton with similar experience in that none carried them. Called back and was provided three specific companies I could work with. They had different offerings so I went with Edgepark to get a Medela. I think bc its relatively new legislation some representatives are just more knowledgeable than others.

Talked to 3 different people today.  They all said I just had to go on the website and they had no way of knowing which ones carried the pumps and which ones didn't.  Ugh so frustrating.  Going to call them again tomorrow and tell them this is ridiculous, I'm not calling 100 different places when the first 15-20 I've already called don't have the pumps...
  • I have Aetna and my experience sounds really similar- a super long list of providers. On my list though, there was a column that gave a short description of the providers products- that helpe weed down the list. I ended up going with an online provider called yummy mummy- they were great to work with.
