Parks?

My cousin just announced that she will be naming her son Parks.  I've never heard of this as a name before.  What's everyone's opinion on this?

Is it a family name from somewhere? It is very much a last name (Rosa Parks) and feels a bit incomplete to me as a first name. I much prefer Parker. But if it is a family name, I could get behind it.

There is no family background that I know of!  That was my first thought too (it sounds like a nickname for Parker).

I know a Park, no s on the end.  Not sure if it's a family name, though.

I know someone who was going to name their child this. It was a family name (grandfather I believe).

I mean, anything can be a name.

It's not a traditional first name, but it falls in line with the very current surname as FN treand.

I love it ! Maybe because I taught b/g twins Parks & Hadley & they were the cutest ever lol

I love this name! It is in my family tree in the 1800s, English side of the family.

I could only see this if it's a family name. Otherwise, it sounds like something I'd tell people so they would quit pestering me about names. Generally if you give an awful name like that people will just shut up instead of giving you feedback or suggestions.

This seems to be the new trend to me.. Brooks, Parks, Townes, Wels.. I picture all of these kids with super hipster parents.. Ugh to them all.

This may be true, but to me, I don't see Brooks as trendy as the others, but it could be because I know a decent amount of older men with that name (in my hometown).
