CP - How long did you wait to go back to work after D&C?

My D&C is tomorrow. My doctor said some people go back to work the next day, some people take a week or more to grieve and heal physically. I was just wondering how long you all took to resume "life as normal" so to speak.

I had my D&C on the 27th (Tuesday). We found out our babies had died the Friday before. I didn't go back to work on Friday and took the whole next week off. Monday was Labor Day so I went back on Tuesday. It was nice to have a whole week to be sad and lay around in bed. Most days I only got up to make dinner for DD and DH.

I found out mybaby was gone and had my d&c on Thursday and I took Friday off but now I'm going back Monday. I feel like I need to keep myself busy because I am so fricken sad all the time. Wish you nothing but the best and I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

Thanks for the responses, ladies. I am not sure how long I will need, but I definitely don't think I can go back the next day. I am having a very hard time, as unfortunately I'm sure you can imagine. Nobody should have to go through this. I hope those of you back at work are finding peace in routine.

I found out about my loss on a Monday, took the whole week off and had my D&E on Friday. I was back to work on Monday. I physically felt fine over the weekend. but it really helped to take that mental time. Can you play it by ear with your work? I told my boss my plan was to return on Monday, but that I may not make it, or may not make a full day. Take your time, everyday is different.

I can, and will, play it by ear. I found out about our loss on Thursday of last week and had my D&C yesterday (Monday), so I have already been out for almost a week. I am taking tomorrow, as well, and may or may not go in for a few hours on Thursday and Friday, but not full days. I don't think I should take off entirely, since I don't want to spend Friday sad and alone...it's my birthday. I think being around people for at least part of the day, and maybe having some cake, will take my mind off of my sadness, even if only for a little while.
