FF question

We're on the go today. How long can formula stay in a cooler with ice pack?

We always just made it as needed.

Personally I'd consider that refrigeration. So as long as it doesn't get warmer than 40 degrees, 24 hours.

Why not just bring bottles of water and then add formula when you need one?

That's what I had planned on, but it was a quick last minute trip and the bottles were dirty from last night. Mom fail.

My formula canisters say 24 hours refrigerated and toss after one hour after baby starts feeding. We go after the one hour mark sometimes, but he's been ok so far.

When I first saw this, I thought it meant fertility friend question and I thought, "damn, she's brave!" I always make bottles ahead of time so when we go out, I just pop two bottles in the little similac cooler I got from my Dr's office. It's small and fits right in the diaper bag. I also consider it still refrigerated so if you don't use it all, you can pop it back in the fridge when you get home. I don't like to do the powder as I need it because it makes way too many bubbles when you shake it up and I already have a gassy baby as it is.
