I have my saline sono and trial transfer today. Woohoo! For ladies who have had them done already, how did it go as far as pain factor? My HSG wasn't too painful, should I expect it to be about the same? I was planning on popping a Motrin and hoping for the best, but I want to be as prepared as possible before going in!
I think you'll get a lot of different opinions on this.
My HSG was pretty easy. Nothing worse than a PAP. The SHG, however, was very, very painful (I was in tears). Luckily, the actual transfer was nothing like the mock transfer.

HSG was a nightmare but salinr sono only issu was getting the cath in. And after five IUIs I was like "I'm told I have a stubborn cervix" but he didn't believe me. It was slightly uncomfortable but nothing too bad.
I haven't had a HSG, so I can only speak to the saline soon and trial transfer. For me it was painful, but it was so quick that it ended up going better than I thought it would (since I typically have pain with a pap, so I was expecting pain). I ended up very crampy afterwards though, even though I had taken ibuprofen beforehand. I hope it goes smoothly for you with no pain!
Thank you guys! Definitely going to take a motrin beforehand and already went by netflx for a movie afterwards. It's been a long week anyways, any way I can milk this with getting help from hubby I will, lol.
I've had the SHG and it was more uncomfortable than the HSG fore sure. I think though, only because the duration of discomfort was longer. The u/s tech that was in there with the doc and me said it is crampy feeling because your uterus is trying to contract the saline out. As soon as he stopped injecting the saline, the discomfort went away. I wouldn't say at all it was painful...just uncomfortable.
My mock transfer and sis were uncomfortable but it was over quick. I went right back to work but I like your idea of "milking" it!

Update - thanks girls for all your support! Unfortunately my experience was not super fun! It had me lamaze breathing there a couple times, but maybe I was just tensed up and made it worse. Ick! Now I'm on a heating pad with my trashy reality shows, so life is much better

PAIF/SAIF and everyone is welcome. If I can make even one person's journey less painful, I will consider my experience here successful. Thank you to all for sharing their stories, the intimate details of their lives, their knowledge, and their hearts. I hope this experience changes me, always for the better.
Sorry it was a bit rough. Main thing...you got through it! Hope all looked well. AND...I Trashy reality shows. My one vice, ok...not the only vice I have, but it's a fun one!
