Anemone

The word is notorious for being incredibly difficult to pronounce, why would you name your daughter this?

  • This is the name of my aunt's BFF. She's 60+ I've never heard of another Anemone. Chosen because it's an uncommon flower name? (My best guess)

  • It's a sea creature like coral, Nemo lived in the anemone. I don't get the attraction but I suppose I've heard worse

  • Hm, this is a curious name choice. Maybe the parents are avid scuba divers and spend a lot of time around coral reefs. Or perhaps the are marine biologists. I actually think it sounds very feminine, but it will be difficult for a lot of people to pronounce.

    I knew someone with this name, hated her, but oddly liked her name.

    It's definitely an unusual name choice, but it's pretty.

  • I don't think it's difficult to pronounce.

    It's definitely an unusual name choice, but it's pretty.

    I believe it is usually difficult for kids though. The Ns and Ms are hard and often get switched.

  • This is one nature name I just can't get behind. Though I believe it was a Greek name (maybe just a Greek word?) first.
