ET complete, T&P please

So we just had our ET. We didn't get as good of news as I was hoping for, though somehow unlike on Saturday during the retrieval, I didn't break down. We only had 3 of the 6 fertilize and of those 3, 2 were only ok. We had 1 5 cell that was fertilized Saturday night, initially it had a cell that showed multi-nucleation, but it fixed itself. We had another that was fertilized last night, grew to a nice 5 cell this AM but then this afternoon again 1 cell showed multi-nucleation.

The RE felt we could either transfer today or wait and see what they did. He of course preferred to wait so that way we could "cancel" if they didn't look more ideal. Not like we get any form of refund if we cancel and he didn't say anything to make me feel better by waiting 2 more days. In fact I think I would have been going insane and if they did arrest or something, I would have wondered if they might have in they were in their "natural" environment instead.

We both sat down without the RE to talk, I felt like in large part he wanted to wait because if he did the transfer and it didn't work, then it was bad for their statistics...and they want to show IVM as a technology with rates close to IVF and make it more prominent...lower success rates don't help that. Plus while we were in there I was researching on my phone and saw that there were lots of cases where 3day 4 or5 cell embies resulted in a baby. and one of ours was like a 1 day 5 cell....so I have hopes for him fixing that little multi-nucleation issue or my other one taking. If there are perfect 3 and 5 day embies or blasts that don't take and not perfect ones that do, I just couldn't not put them in. I had to give "Indy" and "Oliver" a chance. DH named them that since we got together as a result of a TDY trip to Indianapolis and a wine tasting a Oliver winery just outside of there.

My lining managed to get up to 9mm and looked perfect, I was worried about that and they said it was a great transfer.

Our beta is scheduled for the 16th. So if you would, lots of thoughts, prayers, good vibes, anything you can send our way. I still feel positive, even though they aren't perfect, I feel like they have a chance.

Keeping you and your embies in my prayers. I'm happy you decided to give them a chance in their natural environment and didnt just listen to the RE you don't want to wonder what if. Also statistics don't count canceled cycles so I would have felt that same about wondering about the REs motives. My clinic rather put the embie in anyway and take a chance than cancel. Snuggle in embies oh I'm really praying they stick.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. It sounds like you made the right decision. Your cushy lining is the perfect place for them to snuggle in for the long haul! Hope you are able to stay (semi) sane during your tww! You are PUPO so enjoy that!

We are actually in PA. It was a trip for work that sent us to Indy. I love the city and we both want to go back to visit.

It's exciting knowing we have come this far and for the first time ever I have embryos inside me so even if they aren't graded perfect or making an embryologist drool we are further along than we ever have been.
