Numb hand

My right hand has gone numb twice tonight while I was watching tv. It's happened a few times when I woke up during the night, but this time I was just sitting there! The first time I kept my hand down and kept smacking it on things to try to get feeling back. It took maybe ten minutes to feel normal. The second time it only lasted a minute.

Anyone have this problem or know what is causing it? I read it could be carpal tunnel, but I'm not sure that's what's wrong tonight!

Re: Numb hand

  • My feet/legs have been falling asleep a ton recently. I assume it's just about the increased amount of blood circulating in our bodies.

  • My hands, specifically my fingers go numb now as well. They did this with my first pregnancy as well. I even developed carpal tunnel with my first. I was working at a job then, so that could've played a part. I'm not saying you are developing carpal tunnel though. We go through a lot to bring these little people into the world!
  • My face and hand go numb frequently every time I am pregnant.

  • OMG my right hand has been going numb too. Crazy.
  • My hands go numb if I'm leaning on my arms, or specifically my elbow just right (wrong?).

  • My hands having been going numb too.  It happens to me when I end up on my back sleeping, I then wake up because my hand starts going numb.  Very strange.  Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

  • My hands and arms have also been going numb--it's especially a problem when I wake up at night to pee and have to bat at the t.p. roll!

Speaking of sleeping in the wrong positron!!!! I woke up on my stomach last night and my belly was so sore when I rolled over! I fell right back to sleep and then I've been fine all day, so I didn't hurt the baby or anything, but it's been months since I've slept in that position. Ugh! It was awful!
