Apparently when K was in kindergarten, BM went around telling the other parents and teachers that I used to be a stripper.  Seriously.  

One of the moms I've become really close with asked me about it and apologized for not clearing the air sooner.  I guess people believed it at first, and didn't know what to say/think.  Even better?  BM made FB posts/rants about it (yes, my friend showed me the posts).  BM's "valid argument" was that as a single mom I had enough money to own a really nice car, have my hair and nails done all the time, shop in expensive stores and that I constantly wear super high heels.  Because apparently not being a lazy leach on society and having a college education and a job is completely unheard of.  And if you have blonde hair and big boobs, what other profession could you possibly have?  Dude, she even referenced DH's "I support single moms" shirt (it had a silhouette of a stripper on it. That shirt got tossed forever ago)  and said she "wouldn't be surprised" if that's how we met.  Um, she knows how we met.  My best friend married his best friend; BM knows who my best friend is because they used to all hang out back when BM and DH were still together before she got pregnant with K.  It's so completely absurd I can't help but laugh.  

DH is beyond pissed and even wants to sue her for defamation of character.  But seriously, her lies didn't damage my reputation at all; people like ME more than they like HER.  She has become persona non grata at school because of her antics.  But best believe I'm gonna toy with her about it and make sure she knows that I'm aware of her lies.  I guess I should be flattered that she cares so much about me that she sits around and thinks up stories to tell about me and my past.  Also, I guess I'm flattered that she thinks people would pay me money to take my clothes off, as opposed to paying me to keep my clothes on....

She is beyond pathetic and if she wasn't such a bitch I would actually feel bad for her. She has to justify why you are successful and she isn't by putting you down. Otherwise people might expect something of her and she is just too lazy to work for it.


BM tried telling people DH molested SS (after she tried to press charges against him and they were dropped). DH told her that he would be filing charges for slander and defamation of character because they both knew it wasn't true. Her response was 'well I don't have anything worth suing for anyway." She figured since she didn't have a job, or house or any money, she had nothing to lose. She also tells everyone that we have our house and cars from DH's dad. Not the fact that we both went to college and work our asses off for it.

Lol that says you have a pretty awesome body. I would take that compliment! I would love to know what Bm says about me but the people she says it to don't run in my social circles so I have to live in the dark. Pity. j/k

You hit the nail on the head here.  Her attitude towards me and DH completely changed when I informed her that DC doesn't pay his CS and that I had been supporting the children completely on my own for several years while working full-time and putting myself through school.  Once she realized that someone (me) blew her excuses for not working to support herself and K out of the water, she became very hostile and difficult to deal with.

BM does this too.  She even goes so far as to wish herself a "Happy Father's Day" since you know, she's doing it all by herself and having Gma do all the heavy lifting over there, and we're totally imagining the fact that K is at our house 40% of the time...

If you hold a mirror up to someone, they might not like what they see. You make her see herself for who she really is and she doesn't like it so she gets nasty.

Wow almost everything everyone said is what my psycho BM has put me through lol. She too tells people sweet little lies about me that I think she makes herself believe too bc it's easier to deal with the fact that her daughters love me if she can put me down to other people. And she tells ppl DH is a deadbeat dad even though when he knocked her up, he bought her a ring and a house and even now he hasn't missed a child support payment in 10 years, sees his daughters 2x a week, and all but legally adopted BM's older daughter who's father is long gone (sense a theme in BM's life?). And she also wishes herself happy Father's Day. Man do I win a prize for having everything everyone just said all in one? Lol

I think I find humor in it because the storytelling had no negative impact. I was still elected PTA President, I'm still well liked and it didn't hinder any of K's friendships. Had there been some sort issue arising from BM's lies I'm sure I would feel differently and be onboard with DH's desire to litigate this.
