A/S results...

We got a call today that they noticed in our u/s that our baby boy has fluid on his one kidney and that it looks like he also has a cleft lip. They are sending us to get further ultrasounds, but just wondering who else heard this. What can the fluid mean, is it normal. This  is our first and I tend to worry about everything lol.

    During my a/s with DS (in 2011)  his kidneys were considered "borderline". It took us at least a month to learn that referred to size and fluid around his kidney. They checked him with numerous ultrasounds and it eventually resolved itself. In fact, there was even a time when the issue switched from his right kidney to his left kidney! He was due in January 2012 and we had one last ultrasound in May of 2012 and it had finally resolved itself. No treatment necessary and he is a great pee-er so there are definitely no lasting effects.

    Had our A/S today as well; baby also has fluid on one of his kidneys. The Doctor reassured us that its more common in little boys than girls due to the urethra being longer; sometimes valves get stuck closed in a position and cause fluid to build up. We are getting another sono at 30 weeks. He assured us not to worry as they often resolve themselves! Let's stay positive! Thinking of you!

    No specific experience, but our LO has a kidney issue too.  T&Ps to you, and hope you don't have to wait too long for answers - waiting is the worst.
