What sizes to get?

I'm on Carter's about to buy a bunch of their dresses with tights and sweaters. Since they would be more wintery I think should I get size 3 months? As a ftm I'm clueless on sizes. Thanks for any advice!

I wound get 3 or 6 month. Carter's sizing is "up to ..." And baby will still need warm clothes in the spring too

I agree 3-6 months. Depending on how big your baby is at birth, she may not wear newborn sizes for very long at all.

Definitely 3 and 6 month. The NB only goes upto 8lbs and a lot of babies are born bigger than this.

3 month size is 0-3, 6 month size is 3-6, so on and so forth.  So most likely baby will be in 3 month size from birth to March or April and 6 month from Spring into the beginning of summer.

I didn't buy any 6 mo winter bc I live in Texas and it's fairly warm in the Spring. Definitely 70s, 80s and at times 90s. 

I figure on those rare cool Spring days, his 3m would fit, based on my previous experience with Carters clothes OR I could get some really good clearance deals in store if I really needed it.

DS was 23" long at birth.  He wore newborn for about a week.

I bought 2 newborn outfits for the hospital and about 20 outfits in size 3months and about 15 or so in size 6 months all from Carters. I used their promo code for 25% off and free shipping.

My girls would pretty much fit in the sizes "correctly."  They would wear the 0-3 month (3month) clothes until they hit 3 months and then fit in 3-6 (6 month) clothes until they hit 6 months.  Keep in mind, they are small for their ages.  Most babies will be out of these sizes much more quickly.  They have these sales quite frequently.  If you go to Kohls Carters stuff is 50% off every other week or so.  I would get a few sleepers now and then wait and get more as needed.
