Labor coach gift?

Hey everyone. My sister in law is going to be my labor coach along with my husband when the big day comes. She has been amazing and super helpful to me through my entire pregnancy. She is basically my own personal doula! I would really like to get her a gift for all the help she has given me, but I'm a little unsure as to what. I was thinking something special that she will keep like jewelry not a gift card, etc. She is a mom so I don't want to get her something with my sons name on it to wear, as her son may wonder why he isn't on it in the future. Any suggestions would be super helpful! Thanks all!

Maybe just a nice necklace with just the babies birth date inscribed on it, no name, just the date.

Hmm, if it were MY SIL, I'd get a basket of snacks for her for the day of delivery. But it really depends on what she likes as to what kind of gift for you to get her. Cafepress has some cute stuff.

My Mom and MIL will be in with me this time (along with DH of course), and I've been trying to think of a gift as well.  Of course, they are both grandmothers so there's a lot of sentimental stuff out there...I just feel like so much of it is corny.  I am thinking a small piece of jewelry as well.

What about jewelry with your baby's birth stone?  I think the thank you note is more sentimental then the gift, make sure you have some quite time to write it and really express to your SIL how much her help means to you and your DH.

Thank you so much ladies!  I am leaning towards the birthstone idea, which could end up being her birthstone since I am due at the end of october.  Maybe I'll get the year inscribed on it.   And Margaret you are completely right about the thank you note.  I will be sure to do that.  You guys rock!

I really like the birthstone idea as well, that's awesome that it could be her birthstone too! I don't know if you've ever checked out Etsy.com but they have a lot of handmade jewelry, TONS of different styles, and a lot of shops on there do customizing and engraving. Since it is so many different people and shops I can almost always find what I am looking for at a price that works for me.
