Gender Reveal Thoughts....photo in post....

We were told at 18w and 1 day that we were having a girl and that everything looked healthy....which I am totally happy with!! But I just wanna make sure it is indeed a girl....our first LO was a DS and it was plain as day what he was and that was at 20w. I am not supposed to have another ultrasound until mid October....but I know I will drive my DH crazy if I don't at least bring it up to the doctor my concerns. Advice...thoughts please????

Your ultrasound photo is really very blurry. Is there a better one or is this what they gave you?

I agree with @lmills730. I can't really make out the ultrasound picture. I guess you could always do an elective ultrasound if you aren't trusting what the tech said.

Well I just scanned it....so it is possible it could be that!! Let me see if I can do better.

Our tech checked 3 times before we left the u/s room. And she showed me the girl parts as she was looking. And yet I still have small doubt. I'm letting go of the doubt though. It was just so obvious with our DS too! Was your tech able to get a good look or was LO squirmy or not in a good position? I'd say if the tech got a good look, wasn't in a hurry, I'd just trust that it's a girl!

Its really not coming out any better.....I am lost on what to do. Didn't feel so unsure like this with DS.

Sorry I have to agree with PPs where this pic is just too har dto make out what parts are what.

Wanted to let you know though, that you might want to consider editing your post & redo the image with your name removed.   Your full name is showing on the pic.

That's a really blurry pic.  Hard to say...I dont even know what I'm looking at in the pic.  If its a view from the bottom, it *could" be a girl as I see 3 little bumps, but really there is just no way to know.  If you really want to know, get an elective ultrasound done.

Yeah...I'd hold off, too. That picture is too blurry to have a definite "it's a girl!" or "it's a boy!". I'd wait or have an elective u/s.

Yeah I don't know how some people can see anything on some u/s pics! I agree with PP...
But if it makes you feel better, I had the same problem and questions...
I hope you can find out soon and get this question out of your mind... I would be going crazy by now having to wait until October to do another one! lol

Gingerbabe.......we were in the ultrasound room for at least 30 mins. She did all the normal measurements to check lengths, bloodflow and things like that. She tilted me way back and she was being a little tempermental, but not to crazy....her exact words is that these were not always 100% accurate but she was going off what she knew and that was that it was a girl!! Also confirmed with our doctor that there were no boy parts in that photo.

I feel your pain! We wanted the results of our A/S to be put in an envelope because my husband wants to know but I want to wait and do a gender reveal shower. Our LO was hyperactive and the tech was new which led to our U/S being 1 1/4 hours long (which she never had us look away from the screen at any point). At the end of it, she asked if we wanted her to "still write down what she thought it was." We had her do it and I happened to see that she wrote girl before closing the envelope. She missed 3 measurements and a bladder picture so we will be going back in October for another U/S...I'm curious if that will show a girl or not. My gut had told me boy until our U/S...so we will see. Good luck!!!

We were told at 16 weeks and at 19 weeks by our OB she was 90% sure it was a girl.  At our 20 week a/s our specialist told us 99.99% boy and we have the obvious pictures to prove it!  I would wait.  Was your appointment the a/s or a regular OB u/s?

KristaBelieve......I am assuming since I am not having another one until mid October and they went ahead and did measurements and looked at the brain and all that they are calling that the a/s. The only thing we had done that day was the ultrasound and chatted with our doctor. So confused on what to do???

Hmm....that is interesting.  I went to a perinatologist for my a/s and didn't realize some OBs do it.  Another PP suggested getting an elective u/s, that may be the best option if you want to know more info now.  Do you think your OB would be willing to give you another u/s in Sept?

Well we go back for a regular appt on Sept 12th and I am going to ask her. Just to save me and my DH from going crazy. She seems pretty laid back she gave me an ultrasound at 10 weeks just because you can't hear a heart beat on the dopplar until 12 weeks normally and I was just a mess of worry.....everything seems to be off this time around unlike when we had DS, we had a 20 week a/s.
