Stink question and Inserts feeling thin

Forgive me if this has been asked before but we have BG 4.0 with snaps, and the microfiber inserts have recently started to reek like stale pee (only when they're wet, they smell fine fresh from the wash). This is recent, so I don't think C has all of the sudden developed stinky pee 
Also the inserts feel smushed, not fluffy like they used to, and she leaks a little bit anytime she has more than a little pee in her diaper. They aren't repelling, but they just don't seem as absorbent as usual.

They aren't repelling, but they just don't seem as absorbent as usual. I have an HE washer but I always use the extra water option. I do a pre wash, hot wash with CD detergent, and an extra rinse. I used a little bleach recently (the instructions that came with the diapers recommended it for combatting stink) but it didn't really help. What would y'all suggest?
