My boy turned one today....I've been sappy all day and decided to fight off my baby-boy-is-growing-up-too-fast blues away by putting together some favorite names for baby #2. Let me know what you think! They would be going with big brother Everett.

Boys

Calvin (Cal) - Dh's favorite and our current 1st choice is #2 were a boy.
Rory - I know it is unisex now....but I'm a Dr. Who fan and LOVE the name for a boy.
Russell (Russ) - I always go back to the Chevy Chase vacay movies....
Lincoln (Linc) - getting trendy? I like the nn
Archer - too close to the TV show and kind of trendy?
Dawson - too close to the TV show? Plus I called my hubby this when we dated cause he looked like James Van Der Beek

Girls
Felicity (Fliss) - too close to the TV show?
Temperance (Tess, Tempie) - Bones fan but just love the name too
Serena (Rini) - I was/am a huge Sailor Moon fan...not sure if I should use this and be joked on forever
Aveline (Avie) - too many ways it could be pronounced...I say -line
Cordelia (Coco) - Coco is my childhood best friend's nn
Phoebe (Pheebs) - too closely related to Friends?
Esme - Twilight forever? I read it but am no super fan

I love Calvin too! I just discovered it! I don't think any of your tv references are an issue...sadly our kids won't really know about Friends etc. in fact I made a Ross reference to a 20 year old last week and got a blank stare! However if your husband looks like James VBK, I wouldn't give your potential dad-lookalike son the name Dawson.

So many good names. Of your boys I like: Calvin, Russell, and Dawson. Of your girls I like: Aveline, Phoebe, Esme and Felicity. Every name can have some kind of connection so I wouldn't worry about that. Your child will be the connection you make.

I like Russell, Archer and Dawson. I can't get on board with most of the girls names because I don't care for any of the NNs so I will go with Esme even though it's too close to Everett. I would like Phoebe by itself though.

I like Calvin the best of your boy names. I really like how it goes with Everett. I also like Russel/Russ - I don't think of Vacation.

LOVE Felicity and Cordelia of your girl names! I really dislike Coco though.

Thanks guys....nicknames are not set in stone just what comes to mind. We planned on using the nn Rhett for Everett but call him Ev if we don't use his full name. So don't let my nickname ideas throw you!

I like Aveline. I think it could grow on you even with the pronunciation "issues". I feel like almost every name could have pronunciation issues, but that's just me. There was a girl in my birth class who named her child Addaline. With the -line pronunciation. It's different when you're introducing your child irl I guess, even though it was NMS, I saw nothing wrong with her name choice.

Rory and Russell are my favourite boy names from your list. My favourite girl names are Felicity, Temperance (love Bones!) and Esme (the Twilight connection will fade). I'd scratch Aveline.

My faves are Archer and Phoebe. DS2 may be Archer and I love Phoebe for a girl. But I'm a HUGE Friends fan, so it would never fly. Unless you are too, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
