Baby girl name

We are trying decide of we like the name Jacqueline Elizabeth or Audrey Elise better for a girl. Jacqueline Elizabeth is after both my grandmothers names, and Audrey is just a girls name that I really love. I love that Jacqueline Elizabeth has meaning, but then again I am not really close to my grandmothers. I am also afraid about Audrey being too popular, but I adore this name too. What do you think?

Re: Baby girl name

  • I personally prefer Audrey Elise but I like the meaning behind using family names so you can't really go wrong in my book.

  • I think that anything with Elizabeth is good, but of your 2 names, I like Audrey Elise better.

  • Both are very nice... I liked the first option Jacqueline Elizabeth, specially because of the meaning.

  • You didn't say whether Elise has meaning behind it, or if you just like the flow. But another option would be Audrey Elizabeth, that way you're still honoring someone.

That being said, Audrey is on my super short list and I'm really unsure about using it due to the popularity of that name, as well as Aubrey.

I think Jacqueline is really pretty, and actually Jacqueline Elise works too :)

  • Elise has no meaning but I guess it could be short for Elizabeth.
  • I like Audrey Elise.

Another maybe...I knew a girl named Audra. I always thought her name was so pretty, but I've never heard it anywhere else. Just a thought, it's similar but nowhere near as popular(that I know of).

You have now met another Audra. You're welcome. Ha ha!

I'm not a fan of the name Jacqueline. What about flipping them? Elizabeth Jacqueline?

  • I like them both!

  • I LOVE Audrey. Unfortunately DH vetoed it because he thinks it sounds too "old-lady". Boo!

  • My vote is for Audrey.
  • Funny you would mention the name Audra! My daughter's name is Aydra and people always think it's Audra... Even the iPhone autocorrects it to Audra. I've never heard the name so I thought it was weird everyone assumes that's what my daughters name is...
  • I think Jacqueline is beautiful, so long as people don't call her Jackie. But both of your names are beautiful... Have both ready and see what suits her better when you meet her!
  • Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
  • I also like Aubrey better as a first name, but agree with PP about maybe using Elizabeth as the MN.
