Crockpot Risks

I've realized over the last few days that you really are taking a risk when putting dinner in the crockpot. The creamy chicken and cheese dinner I put in the crockpot this morning sounded so amazing. I couldn't wait to come home and have a nice dinner at home. Instead, I almost threw up as I walked in and smelled it. Nothing is wrong with it, it just no longer sounds appealing and I think I may skip out on dinner tonight. It is pretty risky thinking that what sounds good to a pregnant woman at 6:30am will still sound good that evening. Now what to eat...

Awww that's so sad! Crockpot dinners are the best because you can just relax when you get home! Sorry

I was craving egg salad this afternoon, so I made some.  By time I boiled the eggs and mixed it up, I was not feeling it anymore.  I can definitely relate.

Phew, I thought this was going to be a ridiculous post about some new health warnings to do with crock pots. I opened it just to be snarky and I am now only slightly disappointed that there is no need for my snark.

Oh my gosh.  I totally agree.  Sweet husband crockpotted so I don't have to make dinner and after the smell punching me in the face when I walk through the door I could barely choke it down with a smile on my face.

My food ideas change by the minute!! Last night I made myself an egg sandwich for dinner and when I was done preparing it, sat down and said to my husband "I don't even want this anymore". Blech!!!!!!

Haha i was fully prepared to roll my eyes when i read this post thinking someone was going to claim something like "Crock pots are bad for baby because the heat damages cells" or something ridiculous like that.

I agree that there is no way to know if youre going to be dry heaving over your craving!

I was thinking the same thing @jamaicamummy.  I was about to say no way am I giving up my crock pot this fall!! I mean I make so much in that--taco soup, chili, roast, chicken, chicken tacos, lasagna, etc etc!

heck I even make my chicken stock in that bad boy!

I have corned beef in the crockpot as I type.  Thankfully, while some things smell a little stronger, dinner still smells good, and since I'm exhausted, I like the idea that I don't have to do anything today after work.
