NJ Resident - Maternity Leave options?

Okay Mommas... so I am a NJ resident BUT I work in PA. Is there any chance I can take advantage of the fabulous maternity leave options in NJ or is it based on my employer's location?

This may be a dumb question but I had my 1st little guy when I worked in a different state and really didn't look into my options.

Thanks!!!

Re: NJ Resident - Maternity Leave options?

  • Nope. You cant. I live in NJ too but work in NYC and was told I couldnt take advantage since it is based on your employer's location. Definitely a bummer.
  • If your spouse works in NJ he can take advantage of their paternity leave (although they don't call it that). They refer to it as "bonding with an infant/ new child. DH works in NJ (we live in NY) and is able to get I believe 6 weeks of 3/4 pay through the state. The Dept of labor website is vague, if you get a # and call they will send u a packet. GL
