Pulled a muscle - need advice

Hello. Apparently I slept wrong last night and really did a job on my back. I can barely move today. I know I can take Tylenol but I am trying to not take anything until my first appointment (tomorrow, thankfully! I'm 8w 4d) so I bought ThermaCare wraps only to read when I got back to my office that you should consult your doctor before using if pregnant. As I mentioned, my first appointment is tomorrow so it seems like a waste of their time to call them today just to ask but I'm really struggling getting through the day. Have any of you used those wraps while pregnant before? Or do you know how the doctors generally feel about using them when pregnant? Any advice would really help. I'm in a bad way here! Thanks so much!

  • I never asked my doctors before but I used them with my first pregnancy on my back....they (or at least the ones I had) don't get real hot.

  • The concern would be that the wraps may possibly raise your core temperature which is not good for the baby. Cream or ointment maybe a better alternative.
  • thank you both. cream is probably a better idea (and i don't know why i didn't think of that first!) but since i just left my office to get these wraps i can't run out again. now these things are just staring at me!
