Moms who have gone on to have their rainbow baby, maybe you can help me.
My dear friend is having her rainbow this week, and I want to give her a special gift. This will be her 4th child; 2 living, one in heave and this new one. I have no idea what she might like. She already has a room full of baby things that she didn't get to use before, so I don't know if a "baby gift" is what she needs emotionally.
So moms, was there something nice you received when you had your rainbow? I feel like I should know what would be a good gift, but I can't even imagine how I would feel having a rainbow. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

((hugs)) It is so sweet of you to put so much thought into a gift. If you know the birthdays of the other children, maybe you could get a piece of jewelry that has all four birthstones?

I was just looking at stackable birthstone rings last night for myself, now I really like the idea of these pieces. I think I have all the birthdays of her children, this could work.
Thank you!

I haven't had a rainbow yet however I have found these sculptures on Etsy and a lot seem to be for rainbows. She might like something like that https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMidnightOrange
I bought for myself a christmas decoration with all of my kids name also DH an my own name as well. It was like stockings hanging on a chimney . I was so set on including my angel and then my rainbow as well.
i didn't really get any special rainbow baby gifts as we had everything for her when she came from our angel but people gave things like clothes more so than anything else. I think people I know were worried they would hurt me by giving a special gift for my rainbow. I feel like she wasn't really celebrated as much as she should have been because we lost her sister the year before.

Along the Christmas line - I saw on the Lenox website the other day that you can get family ornaments (I believe up to a family of 6) that has everyone's name on it (the one I really liked was snowmen decorating a tree). I'm probably going to get one for our family.

Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day it took you away from me
Missing you tonight, see you again sometime
For now I'll close my eyes and dream of heaven tonight
I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always
Now and Forever
My baby you'll be

This is kind of what I worry about. I want to celebrate my friends new baby, but I know this baby doesn't make everything "ok" now. I love the idea of an ornament with everyone's name on it, something that honors everyone.

With that being said it is easier for others who haven't lost babies to get caught up in the "oh you have a new baby mindset. " So I didn't take it personal for people who were outside of our immediate family. People don't get the comprehension of the loss we feel and for that I am happy. I hate that I know this loss , it sucks. My rainbow makes things a little easier just by smiling at me but she is not a replacement for her big sister we lost who I will miss every singke day until I meet her again one day.
