When do I stop being "higher" high risk?

I had some spotting at 5w6d and 6w1d.  I know this is more "normal" for twin pregnancies, but when do I stop being part of the statistic?  I read that my chance for m/c after 12w is XX without spotting.  Will this always be that I've had spotting or does it "not count" since it's been 7 weeks and I haven't had any more spotting yet?

Probably looking for more of a "when do I stop worrying" answer and I know the answer to that.

I spotted pretty consistently from 7 weeks through 13 weeks.  My doctor was never concerned and never told me I was higher risk because of it.  I had at least 3 ultrasounds during that time (for regular appointments not emergencies) and have had at least 4 (including a/s) afterwards and everything has always been perfect.

Don't worry unless your doctor has told you to!

Well, we were actually out of town and went into the ER with the spotting and they all seemed really worried.  They basically rushed me right in and kept telling me statistical numbers (which is probably why that's what I remember).  They were nice, but it felt like they were preparing me for bad news ... which never came

Yeah, I wouldn't put stock in anything the ER says.  They are just there to address acute conditions and make appropriate referrals/consultations.  Did you ever speak to your MFM about it?

MFM?  I'm assuming you mean my normal OB? Yeah, they did an u/s about a week later and said everything looked great - haven't mentioned anything since.  The only other time I had bleeding was at my 10w apt when they did a pap.  He said as soon as he did it that I was going to bleed - and he was right.  It away that night.

I want to say you can stop worrying now. I am 13 weeks, had early 1st tri spotting, pretty much the same as you and my OB did not qualify me as high risk because of the spotting. It has gone away now and I also had spotting after my PAP with the OB around 8 weeks or so, same as you. I'm considered High Risk now because of the type of twins I have, not because of spotting. Also, you've probably seen heartbeats and maybe even babies fluttering about by now depending on how often you're getting ultrasounds, but I would say your "risks" percentage wise have gone down substancially since the early spotting days.

Awww awesome!!! Weird we had the same symptoms - I guess that means it's "normal" right?   I need to read what the Di/Di thing means and all the different kinds. I don't know them yet...

MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) is a Dr. who specializes in high risk PG (like twins, triplets, etc.). A lot ladies with multiple gestations see one in conjunction with their normal OB.

I hate to say it but you won't ever stop worrying Spotting and bleeding is fairly common (as you said) in a twin PG. I had a huge bleeding episode at 11w (gushing blood) and was sure I was miscarrying but both babies were fine; it was a SCH. I bled for about 48 hours and then it stopped and never happened again.

@jessican08 - We have a high risk clinic here, they said they wont see me unless my regular OB refers me ... I'm probably over-thinking everything and I just keep telling myself that everything is "probably ok".  The word "probably" helps a little bit.

I agree with PP - you probably won't ever stop worrying - but it might lessen.  I had an SCH and heaving bleeding around weeks 12-14 (I think, can't even remember now) and it was SO scary.  I went to the ER and they did the same thing, gave me all the statistics w/ no information.  Thankfully, the second time they told me to call my OB and follow up.  They did an u/s and found the SCH and then put me on bed rest for two weeks. 

After all that I've been spotting/bleeding free and I'm not 28w4d.  I still check the toilet paper every time I go to the bathroom in fear of seeing blood.  But, I don't worry about it as much, if that makes sense.

@YouMe&Bax - I do the same thing (check the toilet paper).  When I get up in the middle of the night I will always turn on the light because I want to see it.  *sigh*

The only part of my "post bleeding" pregnancy considered high risk was the fact that it was twins. So to my doctors... it seemed to stop mattering early on.
