So, DH's friends paid for us to have a cleaning service come before the baby comes. There will be two people coming tomorrow for about 4 hours. I've never had a cleaning service before, so not quite sure how to tip. Any suggestions?
Also, baby furniture is being delivered and set up on Tuesday. What is the going rate for tipping those guys?
TIA
Re: Tipping question
Depending on where the furniture is coming from/who is setting it up, they may not be able to accept tips. Call the store ahead of time and see what their tipping policy is.
As far as the cleaning ladies, that may also be the case if they're coming from a corporate-type company like Molly Maids or something. I'd probably give them each $10 or $20 and/or some lunch or something.
When we had all of our new appliances delivered (fridge, stove top, microwave & dishwasher) and couch we didn't tip - I didn't think we had to?
I don't think you need to tip for a crib delivery although that is nice of you.
We offered all of them cold bottled water or soda from our fridge and they were super happy!
In my area all of the house cleaning services recommend clearing areas of clutter so they can do their job more efficiently. I always feel so silly bc I feel like I am cleaning before the cleaning people get there. Also, if you have pets I would recommend crating them or settling them in to a room that isn't going to be cleaned during the time they would be cleaning.
As for tipping, maybe you can call the company ahead of time to see if they are even allowed to accept tips. A lot of places in my area are not allowed to.
