Checking in after a brief hiatus

In June, we started with an RE and they've been great. They monitored me for July and found that I'm anovulatory--also confirmed the PCOS diagnosis. I was disappointed since I had been getting positive OPK's, but also glad that we had an answer. They said that my body was pretty much just going through the motions even though nothing was happening. Everyone there is pretty fantastic; super supportive and they make sure that you understand absolutely everything that's going on. I feel like that's what every doc's office should be like...my dermatologist could definitely take a few notes!

Anyway, this cycle I started with letrozole and as of yesterday, I had 2 follies that looked good to go (19 & 23). Triggered and BD'd last night...IUI is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I'm a little nervous. When they did the SHG, it was pretty painful, but I figured it's nothing compared to childbirth so I better man up!

Our families still don't know and I am feeling a little guilty lately. I know mom-in-law would be cool about it, but I'm not so sure about my mom. I think she'd take the disappointment a little too much to heart...I'd feel awful. It's jumping the gun a little, but if the IUI works out we'd be able to tell everyone on Thanksgiving and that would be pretty special.

Welcome back and I hope you get good results with your IUI! I had 3 IUI and found them totally painless. Good luck!

Welcome back! My HSG was horrible (and normal results), IUIs are really nothing, just a second of cramping for me. You will find all differing opinions on what they tell/don't tell their families. Our families know nothing, and I like it that way Good Luck!

GL! Agree with all pp! I had 2 IUIs and they were nothing. I did feel a little "full" the evening of the first one, but the second was completely fine.

Can't wait to hear how it all goes for you!!
