The IL's got me a sewing machine for Christmas. I'm anxious to start using it but have no idea where I should buy fabric. I usually just go to Hobby Lobby because it's close but I'm sure there's somewhere that sells better fabric. I'd be willing to buy online if a site is highly recommended.
Re: Where do you buy your fabric?
Jo-Anns for basic, run of the mill things. A local quilt shop for some nicer, designer fabrics and Etsy for things that I can't locate elsewhere.
Oh, and reprodepot.com is a good website if you're up for ordering online. And search for the Etsy seller Good-ness for super cute Japanese fabrics. ?

I wholesale most of my fabrics directly from the manufacturer so anything I don't need a ton of I try to limit my store..because I find the more I shop at a particular etsy sellers store...they tend to cut me a deal (usually 10-20% if I am order over $100 of fabric)
good luck and have fun.
I have got some stuff from here before and she was wonderful to work with

It's a huge old-school fabric shop outside Charlotte, NC. Their prices are fantastic, and you can order online!
