Funneling/Shortening Cervix

Hi Ladies!  I am new to this board, but I was wondering if anyone else had been diagnosed with a funneling cervix.  I am currently 29 weeks and was recently diagnosed with a funneling and shortened cervix; cervix is currently 2.1cm and I was put on bedrest.  If you've had this previously could you please tell me your story?  Did you make it to term?  Was labor shorter?  Thank you soo much in advance for your help!

I haven't had one, but I highly doubt it's going to make your labor shorter. If anything, you may have some pre term labor and they may end up having to stop it several times. Whether it not you will deliver at 40w+ is a crap shoot and up to you body.

The gals on the high risk board may have some more stories or advice for you.

I'm currently going through the same thing. I'm 31wks4d and my cervix is at 1.4. So I'm in the hospital on bed rest I've gotten steroid shots for the baby's lungs and pills to stop contractions. But my dr still thinks I'll go about 4 more weeks.

Check the high risk board for people in your situation. I was short and funneling, in bed rest, induced for medical reasons and had an 18 hr labor, 3 hrs of pushing.

Im 28 weeks with twins. Ive had a shortening cervix with funneling since 22 weeks. Last week it was down to a 1. I go Wednesday to get it checked again. A lot of ladies are going through this on the high risk board. Good luck and hope your lo stay s put for awhile longer!
