Well, this is scary - bleeding & SCH

So I started having little gushes of brownish-red discharge this afternoon. Cue complete freakout.  

My awesome OB had me come in right away. He initially thought it would be cervical bleeding due to irritation from leftover crinone buildup, but he ended up finding a very small SCH when he did the u/s. The baby is completely fine (thank goodness!), but I may be dealing with some bleeding over the next several weeks. He said that even though it was small, I could expect some pretty significant bleeding. Right on cue, I got home and had some very heavy bright red bleeding. It's continued for the last hour or so. Even when you know to expect it, it's just a terrifying sight to see.

So I'm on pelvic rest and exercise restrictions (nothing too bouncy - hah), and they'll have me in for weekly u/s from now until it resolves itself. I know a lot of you ladies have gone through this. I'm trying to keep my anxiety level down, but it's hard to resolve the sight of bright red bleeding with the knowledge that my baby is perfectly fine... It's just a major mindfuck.

I had the same thing! Mine was finally gone at my 20 week ultrasound. I am now 21w1d. It is soooo scary though!

Mine was at 10 weeks, I had a huge LONG night of gushing bleeding. It slowed the next day and there was a couple days of brown spotting but baby was fine and to this day I am shocked that this baby is alive and kicking. Good luck to you!! Keep off your feet as much as possible and know you are almost out of 1st tri and that's a good thing!!

I had bleeding last week right before my 7 wk u/s and RE found a small SCH. It was so scary. RE didn't seem concerned. He does want me to come in for another u/s before he releases me to ob. I had one more bleeding episode. Ugh, it's so scary to see blood, but to get the reassurance from RE makes me feel better. Hang in there.

I just went through it a few days ago, RE didn't see a SCH on ultrasound but thinks that I had a small one that had mostly bled out before I had the US.  It lasted for a day and then turned into dark brown spotting.  She didn't seem too worried about it, I go back on Monday for another US.  It was/is really scary and I'm still preparing for not great news, but we'll see.  Good luck to you, I hope that yours resolves quickly.

it is absolutely terrifying.  they should warn us about these things!

mine was at 11w3d and at 16w was not found in u/s.  hoping i never get another one although i check the toilet paper each time i go to the bathroom and hold it in light to make sure no spotting.

oh so sorry to hear this. I haven't dealt with it but I know from other's posts how hard it is mentally and emotionally. Glad you found out right away what was up though. I'll keep thinking of you and hope that it resolves quickly.
