Menopur question

Hi Ladies: I have not used menopur before in my cycles so this drug is new to me. I have done some research and it seems that some REs think that too much LH can impact egg quality. Does anyone know what is considered too much LH? My RE is starting me on 2 vials of menopur and 187.5 gonal f. I am scared this is too much LH and will hurt my egg quality. (Originally we were going to start with 225 gonal f and 1 vial menopur when we spoke during our consult and I am not sure why the change. I have a call in to my nurse). Anyone have an answer or any insight?

I too had this concern and this is how the nurse explained it to me: 1) it can be bad if you LH rises early as seen by the blood tests in an IVF cycle as the eggs are then "sitting" in the elevated LH and that might compromise quality. 2) the LH in the Menopur is supposed to help the quality and will not cause a spike in your blood LH levels.
I still didn't really get that explanation as it seemed contradictory but I will say that in the cycle where I didn't use it (and also wasn't suppressed properly) my LH started to spike early. This cycle, they added Lupron and Menopur and my LH stayed low the whole cycle.

@weeklyplanner did they do ICSI in your cycle?

I start menopar on Saturday but I don't know the dosage yet, it sounds like we are all on similar protocols, mine is Lupron down regulation. I have not been worried about egg quality as my RE says everything looks good on my side and the reason we are having to do IVF is because of DH low count. That is why I asked about the ICSI, I was wondering if I was going to have some quality issues, because we are not planning on fertilizing all retrieved, if a high number that is.
