Normal pregnancy after early heavy bleeding?

Hi all, haven't officially introduced yet because I'm pretty early but could use some inspiration. I ended up at my RE's office today for an unscheduled first ultrasound thanks to about an hour of heavy red bleeding. I thought for sure that I was miscarrying, but everything on the US looked OK and just got results that beta level is still rising at a normal rate. RE didn't see a subchorionic hematoma but she said that it could've been that and is now bleeding out. She didn't seem too worried about the bleeding, I'm on semi-bedrest for a few days til it stops then back to normal activity with a follow up US in a week.

Just wondering if anyone had scary early bleeding (a lot more than spotting) that resolved and the pregnancy is now pretty normal and healthy? Did you find out the cause? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I know it's super scary!! I had heavy bleeding at 6weeks 3days (gushing!!!), it was an SCH close to my cervix. I had spotting / bleeding for the next 2.5 weeks, at the moment I'm still carrying a healthy pregnancy ">

I did stay on modified bed-rest for 3 weeks after the major bleeding, stay off your feet as much as possible, stay well hydrated.

Super scary, yes! Sounds similar to what yours was like, definitely gushing for a little while. Thanks for some reassurance. I hope that it stops soon and the pregnancy will be OK otherwise.

I had 4 SCH and am now 33 weeks. If it was an SCH you should see just spotting for a week. If you keep bleeding heavily you are prob going to m/c my first pg I bled very heavy at 5 weeks and the kept having heavy bleeds even though there was a hb and betas going up. Gl

It does seem to have tapered over the past few hours and lighter tonight. Thanks for the insight, I do hope in a week or 2 this will be behind me!

I had red clotting spotting like a period thru my betas for 4 days. then at 10 weeks a SCH gushing blood and now we are still hanging on at 32 weeks.

Deep breaths. Easier said than done, I know, but I had fairly continuous bleeding from ~4weeks - ~7 weeks (dx: SCH) and then again at 18w (cervical polyp) that resulted in my bathroom looking like a murder scene.

I have never been so scared in my life as I was for those few weeks but I'm 29 weeks now and LO is currently beating up my bladder.

Just remember: Today you are pregnant and you love your baby.

I bled heavy just like af at 7 wks and it continued on and off until 10 wks. I am now 32 weeks & 4 days pg with twin girls.They told me it was just because my cervix was irritated and during pg there is more blood flow to it.

I had super heavy bleeding at 6 weeks that turned out to be a big SCH. I was put on pelvic rest until about 15 weeks. I'm now 35 weeks along. I hope baby stays okay in there!

Thanks everyone. It seems to be more like spotting today so I'm just trying to stay optimistic and take one day at a time. I'm feeling better hearing from you all that it can still work out!
