I've cut out all alcohol; it wasn't at all that hard since I don't really drink much anyways. I also cut out coffee and pop/soda that has caffeine. I just didn't think you were supposed to drink those beverages during pregnancy. Although they are probably fine for me to have in moderation, I made cutting those things completely out of my diet a habit so it is no big deal and I will continue to do the same for the next few months.
Dangit, now all I can think about is a nice glass of wine.
Right?!? That is all I want now.
I won't have any wine/beer until I get to my third trimester. I know a lot of the vital development is happening in the second trimester. I'm don't judge when people choose to indulge in a drink during the second or first trimester; as long as people are responsible it doesn't bother me.
All of that! Totally wanting wine now! That being said I hardly drank pre-preg so eh, few more months wont kill me.
I haven't had any -- but wouldn't / haven't judged other women/friends who have. And -- I'm incredibly jealous of all them who get to! Haha
My baby brother turns 21 this year and my whole family is going to go celebrate -- including going to wineries. H and I decided that I could "indulge" in a glass of sangria that day...but drink it with water and food at the same time! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it!
That will be the only time I plan on drinking this pregnancy.
I'm totally fine with having a small amount throughout pregnancy. However, other than few sips of DH's beer, I haven't had anything yet and probably will hold off on having my own little bit of wine or beer until after my 20 week anatomy scan, maybe even until 3rd Tri. Just a personal choice--but I do realllllllly want a glass of wine! (Part of the reason I hesitate to buy wine is that I know once it's open, it shouldn't stay open for more than few days and DH isn't a huge wine drinker, and I don't want it to go to waste. )
I actually had a 1/2 glass of white on Friday night. We were going to dinner with two neighbour couples and everyone decided to have one drink before we left. It was great! I wouldn't at the restaurant however, because I do feel like you would get judged.
I didn't have a drop with DS but I feel like 1/2 a glass every 2-3 weeks really isn't a big deal.
Thus far I've kept my alcohol consumption to a few sips here and there. I'm not opposed to having an occasional glass of wine or beer, but for me it's been more of a theory than a practice. I didn't drink at all when I was pregnant with DS. I had GD and it just wasn't worth the resulting spike in blood sugar.
I am not someone who just has a glass of wine for the heck of it, so I just don't drink any alcohol when I am pregnant. When I do drink wine, it is going to be more than one glass, so I will just wait for the baby to be born.
