Re: Sharing my list

  • A lot of lovely names!

For a boy the names that are standing out to me are Henry (on my list), Wesley, Asa and Calvin.

For a girl I really like almost all of your names-- esp Flora, Pearl, Gloria and Paloma.

  • I think the only one I'm not totally a fan of is Cruz...
    It's a GREAT list!!

My favorite boy names are Julian and Calvin...  I think they pair very well with Max!! :)

I love DIana and Diane, too!!  I also like Wren and Flora.  Stella's also very nice!!

  • Although, I kind of like Max and Cruz as a sibset even if Cruz doesn't blow my skirt up on its own.

Alexander - one of my faves but vetoed by DH
David - a solid traditional name that's nothing exciting
     Finley - effeminate
Henry - great for a mn
Stanley - I just think Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire -- STELLA!!!
Leo - hmmm... an interesting name that's traditional but unusual. I like it.
Calvin - and Hobbes, Klein Jeans.  If you can get past these associations, go for it
Julian - OMG. I had a massive crush on a Julian in college.  Could never use this name but love it!!
Sawyer - have only heard this name for a girl. Also, it's a last name.  And have you read Twain?  Tom Sawyer was a jerk.
    Oliver - love it!
Asa - unusual with a very biblical flair.  Like it.
    Cruz - yuck.
Avery - I like this, but unfortunately these days it's being used more for girls
Nico - The kid who lived across the street from me was named this.  He was annoying. People will assume the child is Greek.
Tristan - a guilty pleasure name for me.  My DH was not on board.
    Wesley - like it

    Paloma - don't like it
    Flora - nice
Pearl - I just don't like single syllable names
Diana - a traditional name that was common in the 1970s when I was a kid, but has good staying power.  I like it.
    Gloria - don't like it
Scarlett - like it but this name gets a TON of love here. May become this decade's trendy name.
Stella - certainly goes with Stanley....
Bianca - nms, but a nice name.  Pretty
Arabella - I like this one.
Wren - I don't get where this name comes from or why everyone is so in love with it.  It's a bird. And a puny bird at that.  Like Scarlett, may be becoming this decade's trendy name.
    Aria - it's a musical term, not a name.
    Sadie - love it!
Celeste - love love love it. Best girl name on the list.
Dolly - a cute name, but maybe a little TOO cute

Thanks loves! I should mention that my husband and our last name is Portuguese hence a few names like Cruz, Paloma.

David, Diana, dolly, Stanley, pearl and Sadie are all family names!

we really love Alexander (and like the X factor that ties it into Max ever so subtly) but I fear it is a bit overdone.

I just thought of Calvin yesterday but I must say I'm digging it! Nickname Cal is nice with Max too!

Thanks for the feedback, love hearing what you name lovers think!

  • Paloma means dove in Spanish! I like the meaning too, though I don't know if I would go through with such a different name.

  • For your boys, I love the following: Henry, Leo, Calvin, and Wesley

Dislike:  Finely, Asa, Cruz, Nico, and Tristan

Girls, love:  Pearl and Gloria.  Dolly is close to my heart because it was my husband's grandmother's nickname.  Actual name was Doris.  But I don't think it's a great contender for a first name.

I don't really dislike any of your other girl names.

    Nice choices!

  • My grandmother was Diana and went by Dolly her whole life!!! I am on the fence about Dolly but I loved her so much and would love to give her a name nod!
