My husband and I are expecting our first LO in January and are just starting our search for child are. Can any one give us an idea of how much nannies cost per month in comparison to day care? Thanks so much!
Google "Park Slope Parents nanny survey" - they did a poll of a few hundred families in 2011 re: nanny salaries and benefits. From what I've seen, $600-700 would be what most nannies make after taxes, so if you pay someone on the books, expect to gross that up to more like $800 or $850 per week.
Re: Cost of nanny in NYC or Hoboken?
OMGGGGG That's crazy expensive! I thought it would be more like $2,000 a month, but I was soooo wrong.
@gulicker & Piper345, I'm assuming you both have or had a nanny, Where did you find them and did you have a good experience?
Also, any good recommandations regarding daycares in Hoboken?
Thanks SO much for your help!!
