Someone please school a tech moron here. So I have an iPhone, but I don't own any other Apple products. When I back up the cloud, where the heck is that content going?
Can I piggy back on this question and ask how you know that your photos have in fact made it to the icloud? I need more space on my phone, but I am deathly afraid of losing all of my pictures of Luci!
icloud is a really a server. You get 5 GB, I think, of storage space for free. Above that, they charge a fee. You can download icloud control panel on a Windows machine if you don't have any other Apple products.
I just copy my pictures to my Windows computer by mounting my iphone as an external harddrive & dragging them over from there. It's actually easier to do it that way via Windows than it is via Mac, IMO.

Thanks! This is the piece I was missing. I regularly download photos using photo stream. So it would be more for any other content.
