Has anyone here gotten AF while on progesterone supps?
I'm on 10dpo of my first cycle with progesterone suppositories and today just got some spotting. I know that can happen because they can irritate the cervix, but my drop in temp over the past few days almost to the cover line is making me think AF is on the way.
I thought it wouldn't come until after I stopped taking it, so I called the dr to ask whether if I DO get AF, I should stop taking them. I assumed the answer was yes. His nurse calls back and it was the normal game of telephone between me and the doc. She said, "The doctor said not to stop taking them. Keep at it until the 14 days are up." We talked for a good minute about other questions I had and then she says, "Of course, if you get a full on heavy flow, you can go ahead and stop them."
:throws up hands:
Wasn't that my question in the first place?
Re: AF on progesterone supps?
If you are only spotting, is there a possibility of implantation? If so, you don't want to stop taking the progesterone. For me, if I continue taking the prog., I delay AF, but everyone is different. I'd continue taking them, like nurse suggested, and when 14 days are up, POAS.
Hopefully it is implantation bleeding! GL!

Thanks for the replies. I knew that the supps can cause spotting, so I wasn't thinking about stopping them for that. I just really thought that a full flow AF was coming on due to my drop in temp, and didn't know whether to stop them in that case. Turns out it WAS just spotting.
First time that's ever happened for me, and I'm ridiculously impatient. Just wanted my body to hurry up and decide already.
She was just confused.
I get my period every cycle, P4 supps or no. My usual pattern with supps is that I get a day of spotting, a day of brown flow, then I start a full red flow. It's quite possible you'll still get it, but I'm crossing my fingers for you.
Welp, after spotting much of yesterday, I started red flow today. Goody.
So I guess that's it for this cycle. I just hope I can get home in time from my vacation to pick up my clomid by day 3.
