Wide Shoes and Places to Size

My son has wide feet.  I have tried shoes on him and size 5 fits width-wise (w/o socks) but his feet are way too short for them.  I know people have posted on here about shoes before and they have recommended shoe brands...but where can I find them in a store?  Where can I get him sized correctly?  I have read a lot on here about StrideRite but there isn't one around us. :(  TIA

Re: Wide Shoes and Places to Size

  • What about Clark's for kids? We have one in the mall by us and they sized Quinn. They even have extra wide!

We have a local children's shoe store that sells all the name brands - stride rite, pediped... Or you can print out a size chart on a lot of the brand websites.

My kids both have wide feet and do well in Pediped Original and See Kai Run Smaller. They are flexible shoes, good for this age.

My older DS has really wide feet. We have found that the DC brand fits really well. We didn't even have to order the shoe in a wide. We got his last pair at Nordstrom, but you can pretty much go anywhere online and find them. .

This.  I go to a family owned local shop that is basically a stride rite dealer and buy DSs wide shoes.
