I don't like it for a girl. I went to school with an Everett and he was a 6 foot 2, 250lb line-backer. That is what I think of first. When in hear it for a girl I imagine the Everett I know, with a dress on.
I like so,e boys' names on girls, but I have trouble getting behind this one. I see the Evy NN potential or whatever, but when when I hear Everett, I just picture a big Southern backwoodsy man, or a cowboy.
Love the name for a BOY. Please do not name your daughter this.

I don't mind it. I really love masculine names for girls. Everett wouldn't be my first choice by any means but I don't hate it. P.s. you're never going to get Team Old Lady Names to go for a name like this. :P

I HATE old lady names....HATE...but I hate boy names on girls even more.
I'm sorry but I cannot get behind Everett as a girl's name. ESPECIALLY not as a first name. There are so many pretty and feminine-sounding ACTUAL girl's names out there to choose from. Save Everett for a son.
I'm not a fan of this for a girl, but what is it about this name that makes you love it so much that you want to use it for a girl even though it seems to be an almost exclusively male name? Maybe figuring that out will lead you to some more feminine names with the same feel. If it's the "Ev" sound, the obvious ones are Evelyn, Eva, Everly, or maybe just Ever? I could buy Ever on a girl more than Everett.
Another no here! I always think of boy names on girls the same way...a lifetime of mail addressed to Mr. Everett LN and a wedding invitation that says "Please join us and our families in the celebration of the nuptials of Everett and Steve"
I'm not terribly against it but I think the PPs are pretty compelling. One of my fav names is Evangeline. If you like more masculine names for a girl I've always thought NN could be Evan(ne) from Evangeline. Good luck.

And yes, there is someone on here with a daughter named Everett, I think it was a family name in her situation.
Ruby Everett if you must.
